The Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany acted as co-host of the workshop "Days
of German Science in Uzbekistan”.
It was attended by representatives of research institutes and international
organizations of the two countries.
Uzbekistan was visited by representatives of business communities
of Great Britain
led by Cochairman of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council Dr. Hartley
Booth OBE. During the visit talks were held in the ministries and departments
of the country.
A delegation of business communities of China headed by Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang
Yaopin visited Uzbekistan.
Members of the delegation took part in the Uzbek-Chinese business forum
dedicated to expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation between
the two countries.
Riccardo Manara, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan, said that the 20th
anniversary of diplomatic relations is a serious reason to determine the
outcome of fruitful cooperation between the countries, which develops and
becomes stronger from year to year.
On the occasion organized in honor of the 20th
anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and
Poland, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to
Uzbekistan Marian Pshezdzetski suggested that a considerable experience has
been accumulated over the years by joint efforts in mutually beneficial
cooperation in diverse areas.
Environmental
problems of Central Asia discussed in Berlin
In Berlin, the Association of German Water Partnership
organized a roundtable dedicated to water issues in Central
Asia. The event was timed to the conference "Water Diplomacy
in Central Asia" held in Berlin.
