This week the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has paid an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. For the distinguished guest the Akorda residence set the guard of honour. During their face-to-face talks the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev shared their views on the current state and prospects of mutual relations and discussed the international and regional problems of mutual interest.
Foreign Experts Emphasize Timeliness of Uzbek Initiatives

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov’s statement at the NATO/EAPC Summit in Bucharest, assessments contained in the address towards prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and NATO in the framework of Partnership for Peace Program and proposals on stabilization of situation in Afghanistan are in focus of attention of foreign political, expert, analytical and diplomatic circles as well as mass media.
Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Kyung-ho Kim visited Uzbekistan where he held several negotiations at a number of ministries and agencies.
Delegation of the Tashkent State Aviation Institute of Uzbekistan visited France to establish cooperation with the National Civil Aviation School (ENAC-Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile) based in the city of Toulouse.
Presentation of the investment climate and capabilities of Uzbekistan was held in the headquarters of the Movement of the French Enterprises (Mouvement des Entreprises de France) in Paris, in which representatives of ministries of economy, finance, foreign affairs, transport, tourism and equipment as well as 50 well-known companies and banks of France took part.

Last week’s NATO Summit in the Romanian capital can be determined as an important step towards promoting of security and stability in such highly explosive country like Afghanistan.
The Swiss weekly edition Genève Home Informations (GHI) published an illustrated article “Treasures of Uzbekistan” under the rubric “Legendary Capitals of Central Asia”.
A briefing “Social-Economic Development and Year of Youth in Uzbekistan” was held in the United Kingdom. Representatives of British official, business, public and analytical circles and diplomatic corps, accredited in London participated in the event.
The Third Meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on trade-economic cooperation was held in Ankara. First Deputy Minister for Foreign Relations, Investments and Trade N.Najimov headed the Uzbek delegation.
