The official
ceremony devoted to the 50th anniversary of the National Cultural Centre at the
Turkestan American Association took place in Dover, USA.
This non-profit organization unites the Americans of Uzbek descent.
China’s Vice Foreign
Minister Li Hui paid a working visit to Uzbekistan as head of the Chinese
delegation. Li Hui attended the regular round of political consultations
between the foreign policy departments of the two countries.

The meeting of alumni of training
courses by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) took place in
Tashkent. The event was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in
Uzbekistan and KOICA, and was attended by representatives of the ministries and
agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan has organized a media tour to Samarkand where the results of active cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan were demonstrated.
A regular issue of the Discovery Central Asia travel magazine has been
dedicated to the museums of Central Asian countries. The issue informs the
British and international communities about the culture and sights of Central
Asian countries.
The official Uzbek delegation consisting of representatives of
O’zbekneftegaz National Holding Company, O’zkimyosanoat State Joint-stock
Company, Uzbekenergo State Holding Company, Uzkommunhizmat and Uzinfoinvest
agencies, and Fund for Aral Gene Pool Protection, took part in the
international conference “New Opportunities for Business in Uzbekistan: The
Environmental Sector, including Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).” The
delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Economy Shokir Fayzullaev.
The Turkish
delegation headed by the Deputy Undersecretary for Foreign Trade of Turkey Gьzel Ьlker visited Uzbekistan last week. The
delegation included high-level managers of textile, agricultural, chemical,
transportation and other economic sectors.
