Joint Training Course
 Institutions of higher education in Uzbekistan and Germany are jointly developing a training course on preservation and conservation of buildings of architectural monuments of Uzbekistan. This work is a part of the project funded by Volkswagen in cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 As part of a training for Uzbek youth joining of European know-how and local material and spiritual resources is planned. The training will be provided in the Higher Vocational School in Potsdam, the Dresden Technical University, the University of Bauhaus in Weimar, the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg, as well as public architectural institutes in Tashkent and Samarqand.
Rich architectural heritage of Uzbekistan is a broad field for specialists of the construction engineering, architecture, preservation of monuments, restoration, archeology, art history... In the years of independence considerable restoration work was carried out. However, a technological development and, at last but not least, the changes in society, generate a large number of new tasks and aspects of the interaction. That is why the organization of the course should contribute to the training of specialists who will be able to operate in accordance with modern methods and standards for planning, engineering support and protection of monuments.
