Media Days on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day started in Tashkent on May 2. The youth media forum ‘Mechanisms of motivation for further development of youth journalism through building interinstitutional communication’ and Jurnalistlar Bahori Festival (Journalistic Spring) opened a series of traditional events. The action was organized by the National Association of Electronic Mass Media, Public Fund for Support and Development of Independent Press and Information Agencies of Uzbekistan, Fund Forum, YIC Kelajak Ovozi, as well as UNESCO, OSCE, and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Uzbekistan.

Much more is doable with joint efforts

About 20,000 people of the ‘In the Name of Life’ charity forum marathon came out to the streets of Tashkent on May 1 to come together and contribute to saving the lives of hundreds of women diagnosed with breast cancer. Like last year, the main marathon in the capital was preceded by similar events across the country. From 1,000 to 3,000 people participated in the race in each region. The total number of participants in regional marathons was about 40 thousand people. The project involved a total of more than 100,000 people across the country over three years of its conduction.
