A recent
scientific conference held in the Republican Charity Fund Mahalla discussed
issues related to the improvement of the activities of self-governing bodies
and coordination of their relationship with state bodies.
The class of
rural proprietors, which, as was noted by President Islam Karimov in his
nationwide address on the occasion of Uzbekistan’s 16th anniversary, has become
a moving force behind stable and effective development of agricultural
production may be exemplified by Guzal Shukurova, a farmer from Kibrai district
of Tashkent region, who was named in 2008 the best farmer of Tashkent region at
“Tashabbus – 2008” (Initiative – 2008) competition.
During winter
holidays most active children of “Sardorlar Maktabi” (Activists’ school)
gathered in the capital to define tasks and objectives for 2009, they exchanged
ideas, projects and proposals.
In 2009, the Year
of Rural Development in Uzbekistan,
the implementation of 15 projects directed toward the development of
agricultural and water resources, recycling agricultural products will be
continued through the attraction of foreign credit under the guarantee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and finances provided by the
Fund of Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan.
In an effort
to tackle the transnational crime of human trafficking, Uzbekistan is
taking a broad range of measures and holding events to discuss issues related
to boosting the effectiveness of fighting this evil. The premium is placed on
uniting all authorized bodies and interaction among them.
The
Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s parliament held a session of political
party factions. MPs discussed a number of important issues related to the
improvement of different spheres of activity.

2009 just has
begun. The year enters with peace and calmness, well-being and hope for a
prosperous future, with new intentions, which, no doubt, will come to reality.
As the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov noted in his congratulation on the
occasion of the New Year, the current year will become a year of progressive
development and modernization, a year of continuation and strengthening of
reforms and renovations.
During the
first days of New Year in the Yangibazar settlement of Tashkent province a
modern contemporary diagnostic and treating clinic is put into use.
In the Mubarek
district of Kashkadarya province is performing work to equip new contemporary
spa clinic. It will be built on the premises of the former rural district
hospital which used mineralized waters from bore holes equipped with oil and
gas surveyors.
