The exhibition hall of JSC “Algoritm” hosts a tender for Uzbek and foreign enterprises manufacturing sports goods and equipment. It is organized by the Republican Children’s Sports Development Fund whose Trusteeship Council representative is President Islam Karimov.
Teams from France, Russia, South Africa, India, Brazil, Greece, Morocco, Hungary, Poland, Austria and Central Asian states will participate in an international kurash tournament in memory of Imam at-Termizy. The women championship is to be held within this traditional forum of kurashists.
On the snowy mountains of Turkey, the Alpine skiing team of Uzbekistan became a prize winner in the World Cup competitions, having beaten the representatives of Holland, Belgium, Israel and Georgia.

Football is Uzbekistan’s favorite sport. Its development has turned into one of the top directions of the state policy. The progress accomplished by the Republic in this direction has aroused interest with foreign experts. FIFA’s President Joseph Blatter has recently paid a visit to Uzbekistan. Mr. J. Blatter kindly agreed to be interviewed by a UT correspondent.
The Uzbek school of sport dances is boosting its image in the international arena. This is evidenced by the fact the Cup of Uzbekistan was vied for by over 250 couples not only from Uzbekistan but also from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and Israel. The event was organized by the recently established Federation of DanceSport and the Club “Onyx”, well-known for its achievements.
A Tashkent tennis player Akgul Amanmuradova became a winner of an international tournament in the Indian city of Mumbai both in individual and pair games.

An artistic gymnastics competition ended in the capital of Uzbekistan - Tashkent. Ivan Olishev was the best in individual competition among men and Yulya Kosova among women. Vasiliy Pekshev and Sevara Fayzulina ranked second and Davlet Normetov and Irina Deniskina took the third place here.
An international conference is to be held in Tashkent in late April. How is Uzbekistan preparing for this important forum with the delegation of International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)?
