School sports games have lasted for three days in Uzun boundary district of Surkhandarya region. Twelve-year old schoolchildren from such remote villages as “B. Osmonov”, “Guliston”, “B. Ochildiev”, “Uzun”, “Sarharakat”, “K. Aliev” and 24 schools of Uzun district, totally over 400 children, competed for prizes of the Republican Children’s Sports Development Fund.
An international conference on “Young women are leaders in sports community” was organized in Tashkent by the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Culture and Sports National Olympic Committee (NOC) with the support of UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO offices in Tashkent.
The Japan Football Museum in Tokyo hosted the lots-casting of 16 strongest Asian teams which are competing for the Asian Indoor Football Champion title in mid May this year in Osaka and Xiogo.
“In 2005 I promised our President to do my best to win the world champion title in professional boxing, and I’m pleased to have kept my promise now”, stated Ruslan Chagaev, WBA Super Heavyweight World Champion, in a press-conference in the Museum of Olympic Glory, Tashkent.
Uzbekistan pays much attention to the development of synchronized swimming, entirely women’s sport. “Winners are the same but we are more pleased with those young sportswomen who are following them”, said Galina Krasnova, Chief Coach of national swimming team, after the Synchronized Swimming Championship of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
