Stake on Development of Infrastructure
Khorazm region in the highlight
The outcomes of implementation of the program on infrastructure, transport and communications development in Khorazm region were summed up at the meeting of the Committee for Budget and Economic Reforms of the Senate of Oliy Majlis in Urganch.
As commented by Abdurashid Altiev, Chairman of the Committee for Budget and Economic Reforms of the Senate, the investments in infrastructure, transport and communications amounted to 68.2 billion soums in 2010. For nine months of 2011 this amount increased to 106.1 billion soums. Along with that, the projects on accelerated development of transport, engineering and communication infrastructure contributed to creation of more than 3.5 thousand new jobs.
3,431 new enterprises in small business, construction materials, food and light industry and other sectors opened in 2010 and for the nine months of 2011 in Khorazm region. The relevant meetings of standing committees of the regional Council of people’s representatives worked out the appropriate measures to ensure the stable operation of enterprises in real sector and increase their export potential, creation of new jobs and employment, as well as the development of infrastructure, transport and communications. The measures are currently underway.
At the meeting noted the need to eliminate the existing shortcomings and problems, further development of infrastructure, transport and communications as a critical factor for attracting overseas investments, employment, development of specific proposals and recommendations, the need to further strengthen the control and analysis of all deputies.
