More that 60 companies from 13 countries of the world took part in the international dedicated forum “Central Asian Industrial Week 2008”. Four exhibitions were held in its framework, where the equipment producers and designers of technologies for the industrial sector of the Uzbek economy presented their products.

Traditionally, the holiday events take place in all regions of the republic and the main celebration passes in metropolitan “Turkiston” Palace.
Once again Tashkent has attracted attention of the IT (Information Technology) market specialists from across the world. On these days, the country is the venue for ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Week – InfoCom 2008 (September 22-28). Its scale is quite impressive. The days are filled up with events focusing on further familiarization with high technologies of national and foreign developers and opportunities of practicing them in business, social and personal life.
A new era in the development of domestic lawyer activity was marked by the Chamber of Lawyers of the Republic of Uzbekistan established last week. As a self-governing body this independent organization is called to unite the community of lawyers of the republic and consolidate one of important institutions of a civil society.

Uzbekistan deservingly enters into a number of industrially developed countries of the world. And the already traditional exhibition, EXPO.UZ 08, of the best samples of domestic goods and services, having passed last week on the floors of Uzexpocenter, brightly proves it.
By the results of the first half of 2008 the state program on export of agricultural goods and services is executed with excess by 177.6%. The main agrarian harvest season is ahead: farmers of all the republic started getting the major yield of fruit, vegetables, grapes, melons and gourds and other crops, grown on fertile Uzbek earth and known everywhere in the world for quality and taste.
The Uzbek
capital prepares for the celebration of its 2200th anniversary. As a part of
preparation for the anniversary celebrations the city intends to carry out
various events and wide scale work on studying the history, restoring and
renovating the historical monuments and places of worship. Therefore, seminars,
roundtables and conferences are held on this subject. One of them, a scientific
conference on “Chach – Binkent –Tashkent” that
took place this week, gathered leading scientists of Uzbekistan to share results of
their researches and tell about interesting discoveries.
The upcoming Saturday is the first competition day of the 29th Olympic
Games which the Uzbek citizens will watch not with less interest than the rest
of population of the planet. No wonder, sport is one of the brightest fetishes
in the modern world. But this date has the second meaning for Uzbeks and
directly coincides with the Olympic day because on August 9 the country
celebrates the Sports Trainers Day.
