The country continues the development of angiography,
diagnosing and treating the narrowing of the lumen of blood vessels according
to the methods recognized as a gold standard all over the world. Today the
country increases the number of installations, expands the list of ongoing
manipulations.
Angiographic
examination allows doctors to identify the state of the vessels by putting the
catheter into them, i.e. to identify all abnormal vasoconstrictions and atheromatous
plaques blockages. Also, this equipment allows doctors to expand or to clean
the vessels and restore the normal blood flow in them without surgery, because
the catheter is inserted into the vascular system through a puncture. Such
intervention prevents dangerous complications.
Statistics
shows that angiography is often used in Uzbekistan for diagnosis and
treatment of heart vessels, which is a reliable method of prevention of
myocardial infarction.
The widest
range of interventions undertaken with the angiograph is implemented at Vahidov Specialized Center.
The clinic was the first in the country to acquire the necessary installation
and began to develop these technologies in 1998.
“Today we
carry out surgeries on all the major vessels on both diagnostic and therapeutic
purposes with the use of angiography equipment,” said Mirjamal Zufarov, the deputy
director of high tech. “These technologies also allow us to perform a number of
interventions for congenital and acquired heart defects.”
New
angiograph installed a few months ago at the Republican Specialized Center of
Cardiology, is currently used only for diagnosis and treatment of certain
diseases of coronary arteries. But the doctors are going to improve and expand
the list of interventions. The only angiograph installed outside of Tashkent works in Namangan
regional branch of the Republican
Scientific Center
for Emergency Medical Care.
The field
of application of angiographic installation of the clinic of the Tashkent Pediatric
Medical Institute is mostly the congenital heart diseases. The Republican
Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care became the first and the only
institution in the country applying angiography equipment for patients with
acute coronary syndrome.
According
to the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic Uzbekistan, soon the country will
acquire new angiographic installations. The Republican Scientific Practical
Center of Therapy and Medical Rehabilitation, and a number of large regional
hospitals plan to purchase such equipment.
