The history of musical art of the Uzbek people
knows numbers of bright and talented names contributing to the formation of
national culture. The special place in it is ranked by doira players – the most
striking and joyous among the national musical instruments. To the creativity
of doira players was dedicated one of the musical evenings organized in the
State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.
From the
extreme past the rhythmic tunes of doira always betoken the beginning of major
holidays and festal occasions. And even now not a single festivity is organized
without this musical instrument enjoying great popularity with the Uzbek
people. Playing skills in this instruments emerged in the far past and passed
over from generation to generation getting enriched with new methods and
styles. Renowned Uzbek musicians Olim Komilov, To’ychi Inag’omov, G’ofir
Azimov, Rakhim Isakho’jayev, Bolta Sharipov and other performers created inimitable
techniques of playing this instrument having left rich heritage to their
apprentices. One of them is the Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Dilmurod Islomov.
Now he is engaged in preserving the traditions of his tutors and passing the
knowledge to younger generation.
“The leading
role among national musical instruments of Uzbekistan belongs to doira. Its
accurate rhythmic music, magic tunes inform about the ancient culture of the
people, its history,” notes Dilmurod Islomov. “And, of cource, it is quite
important now to preserve the genuine art of play doira, its traditions and
pass them over the next generations.”
Love for
music emerged in Dilmurod Islomov in his childhood. He started his creative
activity in 1971 as the musician in the ensemble “Shodlik” (the present-day “Uzbekistan”). From
the great number of musical instruments he gave his preference to doira
inspired by his joyous tunes. For the whole creative activity Dilmurod Islomov
visited many countries representing there his performing art. He is the winner
of many republican and international music festivals. Now, the musician is the
supervisor of the ensembles “Sayqal” and doira players, as well as teaches in
the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.
The concert
program was quite sated and bright. The products by Uzbek composers were
performed by the ensemble “Sayqal” and the doira players group under the
supervision of Dilmurod Islomov.
Absolute
talent was demonstrated by the students of Dilmurod Islomov took part in the
concert. The program was enriched with the striking dances of members of the
ensemble “Uzbekistan”
and performances of popular artists Zulayho Boyhonova, Matrasul Matyoqubov,
Mahmudjon Tojiboyev, and Soyibjon Niyozov. The concert was rather successful
and presented the audience with lots of joyful moments where, undoubtedly,
doira set the tune.
