National Motifs of Modern Plays
In the case of the comedy “White Apples”

The opening night of the play “White Apples” staged by the director Sayfiddin Meliyev has taken place in the Uzbek State Drama Theater. The creative troupe of the theater portrayed interesting vital stories based on the events adopted from the products of the modern writer Erkin A’zam.
Unique old traditions of the people of Surkhondaryo region, particularly, of Boysun (the main action place), are interlaced in the play with modern ideas of culture and art. The whole range of motley national color and music performed by the instrumental ensemble “Do’mbra” complemented the product with special charm.
Choykhona – tea house is in the limelight of the action – a customary part of Uzbek people’s culture combining in itself kind traditions and customs. This busy place brings together various people not only for dining but to commune with friends while drinking fragrant tea. 
It is choykhona where main characters meet each other and where they hold heart-to-heart talks and discuss the ways of solving the exciting issues. Various situations occurring during the play are intersected with each other in the end.
“All characters of the play are nice people with inspiring hearts, good intentions who truly love their Motherland,” underscores Sayfiddin Meliyev. “Not without reason the play’s name is “White Apples” that is inherent in sincere and open-hearted people. Romanticism, friendship and devotion is laid on the basis of the play.”
The key theme of the play is friendly ties between various peoples, as characters portrayed in the work are of various nationalities residing in Uzbekistan yet connected with common values and hopes. Promising young actors along with experienced ones act in the play “White Apples”, including Farhod Muhtorov, Shohida Uzoqova, Gulbahor Yo’dosheva, Haybulla Jumanov, and others.
The actors demonstrated high class performance that means that the Uzbek State Drama Theater keeps catching the audience’s fancy with mysterious and never-getting-old art of embodying imaginations and dreams on the stage.
