A week of cultural events and
competitions dedicated to French language and French-speaking countries are
being held in Tashkent organized by the French
Institute and representatives of member countries of La Francophonie in Tashkent.
The Embassies of France, Algeria, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic,
Switzerland and the Canadian Embassy in the Russian Federation take part in the
event.
The Week was opened by a French songs competition. Its program also
provides for holding contests on the knowledge of the French and culture, an
exhibition of member countries of La Francophonie, film screenings and other events.
