The decision to establish a branch with a cardio surgery office was adopted in 2009. The new establishment was placed in a picturesque area of Urganch suburb - Khorezm regional center. In the first year the land was resurfaced and the building was repaired. Today, the complex resembles a recreational area. Therapeutic offices of the branch began functioning almost immediately after commissioning of the first building. Their work was provided by the specialists of the former regional cardiology clinic, which functioned for fifteen years. Simultaneously, the reconstruction of rooms intended for surgeries continued. Earlier this year, they started operating as well. The office of the regional diversified center moved to the branch.

Patients with coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, suffering from cardiac arrhythmia are treated in therapeutic offices by new methods of drug therapy. Specialists of offices are actively engaged in innovative activities. So, they are the first in the country to purchased and implement the ozone therapy apparatus in cardiology clinic.

“Application of ozone therapy promotes healing of patients with heart failure,” says doctor of the branch Irina Hametova. “Ozone helps to improve blood circulation and metabolism. By the way, such procedures have curative effect not only on the heart, but on the whole organism.

Specialists of cardiac surgery department are continuously improving as well. They have two artificial blood circulation apparatus that enable a wide range of surgeries both in congenital and acquired heart defects.

“In the near future we plan to do bypass surgeries. It is necessary for improvement of the quality of treatment of patients with severe cases of coronary heart disease in the western region of the country,” says Matkarim Sobirov, cardio surgeon of the branch. “We intend to introduce interventional surgery, particularly angiographic coronary intervention and treatment of cardiac arrhythmia by ablation. We are waiting for purchase of necessary equipment.”

By the way, the surgical department, which today is part of the Khorazm branch of the Republican Cardiology Center, is the first division of the country, which has engaged heart surgeries outside of Tashkent. It happened in the mid-nineties of last century. And with the union of therapeutic and surgical departments in one branch, experts predict further improvement of the quality of aid to the population in most common cardiac diseases.

Soon there will be another clinic, which will adjoin therapy and surgery for heart disease - it is created on the basis of the Namangan regional cardio clinic. Earlier, a similar association occurred in the clinic of Andijon State Medical Institute.
