12 new digital transmitters
to be installed by 2015
In compliance with the Decree of the head of the state "On acceleration of infrastructure development, transport
and communication construction in 2011-2015" some measures have been taken for the further
phased transition to digital television in the regions of the
country.
In particular, two transmitters
will be commissioned in Farg’ona and Qashqadaryo regions this year, two more - in Navoi and Surkhondaryo in the coming year. The digital broadcasting
coverage will be expanded in Jizzakh and Samarqand
in 2013 by installation of two transmitters. Three
new transmitters will
be commissioned in Karakalpakstan,
Bukhoro and Khorazm regions in 2014,
and in some
remote rural settlements - in 2015.
In addition, in order to take full
advantage of digital television
in the current year it is scheduled to launch the production of
the first serials and programs in high-definition format in Uzbekistan.
The recording of programs and TV
series in HD format will significantly increase the definition
and refinement of the transmitted image, as well as enable
shifting to HDTV (High Definition TV),
the image of which contains five times more pixels than the usual TV signal.
