The Ikuo Hirayama International Caravansarai of
Culture of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan has become the venue for
the creative contest on illustrating the historical-literary product
“Boburnoma”, as well as for the subsequent exhibition of works of winners.
This
cultural action was timed to the 528th date of birth of Zahiriddin
Muhammad Bobur, the outstanding statesman and poet, humanist and thinker, who
left priceless scientific and cultural heritage for the successive generations.
The action was taken part by more than 60 artists of both professionals and
representatives of younger generation: members of the Creative Association of
Artists under the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, students of the Kamoliddin
Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design and other higher educational
institutions, as well as students of the Ho’jayev Republican College of Design
and Republican Art College.
“The
artists were privileged to participate in this contest took place within master
classes,” noted one of the winners, the artist Damir Urazayev. “Here, we have
backed with the fact that our youth by their creative achievements justify
their tutors’ trust.”
Miniatures
and graphic works devoted to Bobur were displayed in the exhibition. These art
works vividly reflect those personages from the poet’s famous literary product
“Boburnoma” which even today evokes huge interest of people around the globe.
“Familiarization
of young artists with the priceless cultural heritage of our forefathers is
quite significant as it is considered the heritage of the world civilization,”
says the chief secretary of the Academy
of Arts Abdumajid Madraimov.
“Boburnoma is the greatest work that attracts the minds of many for many
centuries. It is known that this product was translated into several languages
and hundreds of Indian and Central Asian artists made illustrations to it.
Scientific researches are carried out up to now on useful information
“Boburnoma” contains. For instance, in England
the School of Oriental Studies has been operating
since two hundred years. There are lots of similar examples and all of them
demonstrate the special significance of the heritage of Bobur in fostering
intellectual youth.”
According
to the results of the contest, the winners were awarded with diplomas and
valuable prizes. Gazelles of Bobur recited during the exposition turned a fine
compliment that was accompanied by the music in exhibition of the students of
the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. Their talent was also noted with special award
of the jury.
The
chairperson of the Academy
of Arts of Uzbekistan
Tursunali Qo’ziyev and the head of the National Association of Craftsmen and
Artists of Uzbekistan Yusuf Kurbanov admitted that during the contest all
participating artists demonstrated high professionalism and turned the deserved
example of the harmoniously advanced generation.
The contest
was organized by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan together with the
International Fund of Bobur, Republican Association “Khunarmand”, Creative
Association of Artists of Uzbekistan, Memorial Complex of Kamoliddin Behzod and
International Caravansarai of Culture.
