The Association of Korean National Cultural
Centers of Uzbekistan
hugely contributes in upbringing a new generation and further development of
culture, traditions and values of nationalities and ethnic minorities.
“Representatives
of more than one hundred thirty nationalities and minorities consider the Uzbek
land their home place,” says the head of the Association of Korean National
Cultural Centers of Uzbekistan Nikolay Kim. “The Korean Diaspora in Uzbekistan
actively participates in social-political life of the country. And, it
accolades high recognition - many representatives of the Korean nationality are
awarded high prizes: titles, orders and medals. The Association runs language
courses, fine art sections, singing clubs, choreography and sports groups. More
than twenty art collectives and ensembles actively popularize unique samples of
cultural heritage of various nationalities. Artistic review-contests on
studying Uzbek and Korean languages, exhibitions of children’s artistic
creativity, amateur painters, photo artists, as well as festival of national
songs evoke huge interest in the youth. Sport competitions on chess and
football favor the efficient organization of leisure time of children of
various nationalities, wider involvement of the youth in physical culture and
sports.
In 2012,
the Association intends the organization of concerts, review-contests on
linguistics, preparation of national meals, exhibitions of products of Korean
painters, evenings and festivals of friendship.
“It is
symbolic that 20 years of celebration of the Republican International
Cultural Center
widely marks in 2012 that was announced by the President Islam Karimov the Year
of the Family,” emphasizes Nikolay Kim. “As Uzbekistan where representatives of
various nationalities live in peace and toilerance is our single family.”
