In the aim of further development of tourist
infrastructure, providing complete information on the potential of travel
industry of Uzbekistan there has been implemented the project directed to the
demonstration and development of tourism and investment potential of Zomin
district of Jizzakh region.
Within the
project the health-resort management at the Federation Council of Trade Unions
of Uzbekistan in conjunction with UNDP Office has organized the info-tour to
Zomin district for representatives of travel agencies and companies, as well as
journalists.
Zomin
located 3,000 meters
above sea level is famous for its inimitable nature, fir groves, medicinal air
and herbals. The territory has plenty of health resorts.
One of them
is the health resort Zomin. It is located 50 kilometers from
the district center on northern spurs of Turkiston Mountain
range, 2,000 meters
above sea level, on reserve zone amidst fir groves. Atmospheric pressure is
relatively low and saturation of the air with oxygen and ultraviolet rays is
very good for treatment of various diseases of upper air passages and nervous
system.
Therapy
unit of the resort is fitted out with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic
equipments. Physicians and nurses of professional qualification are at the
service of patients. There are various treatment procedures are offered: two
covered swimming pools, sauna, medicated and pearl baths, various types of
showers, underwater massage, and mud treatment. Galotherapy and treatment with
the use of up-to-date inhalation equipments enjoy great popularity with
vacationers.
Eco
tourism, as well as enlightening, cultural and physical tourism gets developed
in the country as well. Mountain climbers and skiing admirers make the major
part of tourists visiting the country. Therefore, Zomin resort has a mountain
ski-run of 350 meters
long and there are all conditions for connoisseurs of this type of sport.
The
info-tour included a number of actions and presentations dedicated to the
tourism potential of Zomin district. At conferences the gathered exchanged
opinions on issues concerning ways of attracting here tourists during winter
period, and further development of international and domestic tourism, service
industry.
