The Ikuo Hiyarama International Caravansaray of
Culture of Uzbekistan’s Academy of Arts has hosted a charity action and
concert “Requiem. Solidarity. By a Blossoming Sakura” dedicated to the memory
of quake and tsunami victims occurred March 11, 2011, in Japan. The
action was attended by the Ambassador of Japan
in Uzbekistan,
representatives of Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies,
journalists, science and culture figures, as well as youth and the wider
public.
The musical culture of the Uzbek people is
rather singular and versatile. However, up to the 20th century there
was no musical notation of folk melodies. The first records appeared owing to
the creative activity of the talented composer, virtuoso performer-instrumentalist,
singer, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan
Yunus Rajabiy.
“Famous Artists of Uzbekistan:
Tashkent, Samarqand, Bukhoro” was the name of
the exhibition took place in the Gallery “Otsu”,
Maebashi city, Gunma Prefecture.
House of Receptions of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs has hosted the seventh chess tournament among representatives of diplomatic
corps in Tashkent.

This unconventional tournament of teams of
diplomatic offices and international organizations accredited in our country,
organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Diplomatic Service Department
and Republican Chess Federation, is getting popular from year to year, indeed.
This year action brought together 39 contenders.
Uzbekistan’s State Museum of Applied Arts is hosting the
exhibition titled as “Gem of Applied Arts”. It represents the products created
by masters of local folk trades, particularly, all types of weaving and textile
– ikat, adras, silk, apparels, all-favored skullcaps, and many other pieces of
the national arts.
The Ikuo Hirayama International Caravansarai of
Culture of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan has become the venue for
the creative contest on illustrating the historical-literary product
“Boburnoma”, as well as for the subsequent exhibition of works of winners.
