Born in the Uzbek land, Felix Yan-Yanovsky initially
imbibed those special features and diversity of national culture that
afterwards found its reflection in his multifaceted creativity. Music by Feli[
Yan-Yanovsky amazingly combines the national and modern. The composer considers
that both of them inseparably linked with each other. At the creative evening
organized in the State Conservatory he presented the audience with his new
products that were seemed bold in combination of timbres and orchestral
solutions.
Uzbek
composing creativity of the last century glittered with plenty of brilliant
talents. One of the brightest representatives is Professor Feli[ Yan-Yanovsky,
Honored Worker of Art of Uzbekistan, owner of the honorary prize M&TV for
contribution to development of culture and art of Uzbekistan.
The
composer was born in Tashkent.
He got a fine education in the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan on violin and
composition. He has already teaching for fifty years sharing his rich
experience and knowledge with younger generation of musicians.
He came to the
world of music in the early 1960s. By that time the Uzbek classic music
experienced the tradition of wider use of folklore, a generation of authors had
been formed who sought for new genres through using modern means in music.
“One of
representatives of this generation is Felix Yan-Yanovsky,” stated art
historian, rector of the State Conservatory Dilora Muradova. “His sonata for
bassoon, opera Punch-Foreigner, and concerto grosso ¹1 bewitch people with
breathtaking music, flashing humor and excellent orchestra conduction. The
author amazes with his boldness and experience gained due to profound study of
music.”
Proficiency
in world music and possession of an arsenal of expressive means always make
Felix Yan-Yanovsky distinctive.
“He studied
thoroughly the development of Uzbek music culture, especially, maqoms,” tells a
well-known piano player, Professor at the State Conservatory Adiba Sharipova.
“The composer live the whole of life in Uzbekistan. Probably, it is why he so
delicately feels the national color, using national melodies in his
compositions. This is his secret to transform and choose out the needed. My
attitude to this composer is filled with great expectations and trepidation, as
his creativity is always unexpected, fresh, and topical. He perfectly knows the
past and keeps in touch with the present. And the current concert is the confirmation
of it.”
The
composer’s colleagues consider that Felix Yan-Yanovsky is the master of his
work, expert in development of modern music performing art and composer’s
school. His solo concerts are always full house, it is probably because he
quite quickly reacts on new trends in classical music, reflect then in his
creativity that make his compositions fresh and up-to-date.
Creativity
of Felix Yan-Yanovsky is rich and diverse. They include four operas, four
symphonies, requiem, two masses, oratorios, cantatas, concerts fro orchestra
and various instruments, choir and vocal cycles, music for Uzbek national
instruments, pop songs, music for 50 films and 15 plays.

latest products is the ballet Uroshima Taro on the story of the Japanese fairy,
the premiere of which was held in Japan with huge success. He is guru
in music and feels himself quite cozy everywhere. His products are performed
with pleasure in many international competitions and festivals.

Conservatory. Almost all products entered the program list were new and
performed for the first time. In particular, compositions From the First
Sequence, Ballade about Little Jim and His Naughty Mom, Concerto Grosso ¹4,

opera soloist at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theater Yanika
Bagryanskaya, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, Professor Adiba Sharipova who
played harpsichord, and young musician, percussionist, laureate of
international contest Alibek Kabdurahmanov demonstrated brilliant performance in
accompaniment of the popular chamber orchestra Turkiston under supervision of
Eldar Azimov.
“I am
pretty glad with the work of the orchestra and soloists,” shared his
impressions Felix Yan-Yanovsky. “The orchestra spent much time rehearsing. Eldar
Azimov is a high-profile musician, and it is no need to interfere in the
preparation process, as everything was in the score. Hope, in the future it
would be possible to stage my new opera The Princess and the Pea for grown-ups
and children. It is very pleasant that the conservatory acted the implementer
of the project. Zohid Haqnazarov is to act the conductor of the orchestra. The
opera is, apparently, to be of concert performance. It will be staged with
participation of soloists and the orchestra of the Conservatory’s opera studio.
Yanika Bagryanskaya from the Navoi Grand Theater is to be invited. I believe it
will be quite cheerful performance.”
