The passed year was full of bright and
interesting events, creative meetings and grandiose projects that repeatedly
brought together in the capital those renowned culture and art figures from
across the globe. The major ones were noted by the Academy
of Arts at the traditional creative
review TOP ART 2011 that was held in the Tashkent’s
Uzbekistan Hotel.
Annual TOP ART
award distinguishes the best projects in art, inspired work and creative
achievements of national painters, sculptors, graphic artists, photographs,
designers, as well as the work of journalists in covering major events occurred
in cultural life of the country. Besides, the ceremony contributes to the
constructive dialoging between art figures and journalists, establishing new
creative ties, exchanging opinions, plans and ideas.
At the
ceremony among the best exhibitions were noted those dedicated to the country’s
20 years of independence, Constitution day, art exhibition Uzbekistan – Our
Common Home, as well as the Week of Fine Art + 5 and projects of the Fund Forum
directed in the development of fine and applied art, preservation of national
traditions and support of talented youth. They include the Art Week Style.UZ
2011 and the 6th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art
that rank high in the development of international cultural exchange,
strengthening creative ties and familiarization of foreign public with the rich
cultural heritage of the Uzbek people.
Exhibitions
of Uzbek and foreign masters organized in the Tashkent House of Photography
were awarded with honorary prizes. Photo exhibition 100 Years of Tokyo, held within the Art Week Style.UZ 2011, and
exhibition Devotion to Sacred Bukhara of the renowned Japanese calligrapher
Fuad Koichi Honda, entered the program of the fourth Festival of Traditional
Culture Asrlar Sadosi in Bukhoro, were among the best foreign art projects
organized in Uzbekistan.
Breakthroughs
of young workers of culture, exhibitions of national painters abroad, solo
expositions, publications on Uzbekistan’s
art, articles on culture and various projects of mass media were also awarded
with high prizes.
The work of
journalists was also awarded, including Zebo Mirzaeva, Berdi Rahmatov, Hulkar
Hamroeva, Charos Dadajonova, Odina Karimova, Nargiza Ergasheva, Muhayyo
Ghulomova, Rustam Musurmon, Shodmonqul Salom, Irina Ribar, Oybek Rahimov,
Evgeniya Kharlamova, Boris Babaev, Gulnora Rahmon, Yuliya Logvina, Nazira
Boymirzaeva, Nazokat Usmonova, Dilorom Ikromova, Umar Qurbonov, Yevgeniy
Sklyavevskiy, Tamara Sanaeva, and documentalist Elvira Mamajonova.
According
to the decision of the jury of the academy
of Arts, Erkinjon
Turdimov became the sponsor of the year, Viktoria Bots – photographer of the
year, Muhammadjon Tojimirzaev – best artist, Marina Borodina – best sculptor.
Mahmud Ishonqulov and Nikolay Popov were awarded the title of Graphic Artist of
the Year, Saida Amir won in the nomination Fashion Designer of the Year, while
Utkir Jabborov triumphed as Designer of the Year. The prize for Artist-Tutor
went to Toshpo’lat Namozov. Nazira Qo’zieva won in the nomination Ceramist of
the Year. Sardor Babaev became the best curator of the year. Zilola Nosirova joined
the ranks of best art historians, while Sayyora Nazarova – best exhibitionist.
The Best Museum prize went to the capital’s Fine
Art Gallery.
