Three health conferences have taken place last week. One of them was
devoted to issues of development of medical visualization and intervention
radiology, another – to the influence of the environment on health of people,
and the third – to innovations in treatment of oncology diseases.
Vaccination of livestock continues in the infection risk zones of Uzbekistan. So,
the spring vaccination of cattle stock was completed in Jizzakh region.
The
next congress of the Republican Emergency Antiepidemic Commission has taken
place in Tashkent,
where the global swine flu pandemia situation was discussed. A complex of
measures on strengthening of work on prevention of bringing this disease to the
country was discussed there.
The
Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan
adopted the Concept of creation and development of the National Integrated
Information System of Healthcare. According to it all medical establishments of
the country will be united by one computer network by 2013.
For the last ten years the
number of cases of hepatitis B, whooping cough and diphtheria at children
decreased by 3-4 times in Uzbekistan. There are practically no cases of rubeola
and German measles. Besides, the World Health Organization declared Uzbekistan the
poliomyelitis-free country.
The Republican Scientific Center of Vertebrology is going to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Director of the center, Doctor of Medicine Alim Abduhalikov told about this young medical institution:
