Healthcare’. In this issue we suggest a compilation on urology issues.
Not just in Tashkent
"I
heard Tashkent specialists
develop the ways of removing kidney stones and urinary channels without large
incisions. Are these technologies provided anywhere in the regions?” Tanzila
Rahimova, Beruniy district of Karakalpakstan.
Yes, that’s true. The Khorazm
branch of the Republican Specialized Center of Urology, the nearest one to you,
provides such operations.
Rustam
Nurullayev, the director, tells about it in detail:
- These technologies were introduced in our center almost since the very
beginning. We have a device for remote (contact-free) crushing of stones, as
well as endovisual equipment, which allows you to remove the stones through the
natural urinary path, or punctures in the skin. The choice of method is
individual for each patient. Therefore, it is quite possible that a traditional
surgery with cutting of soft tissue might be the most appropriate way of
treatment of an individual patient to achieve the best results. This means that
any specific recommendations are possible after the individual consultation.
On mandatory
basis
"For many patients a hemodialysis
is a life-long procedure that must be held regularly at the scheduled time. Each
region of Uzbekistan
has at least two centers that provide this treatment. What if the device is
suddenly broken? I am worried about my mother." Rahima Hakimova, Guliston.
Valery Dyagilev, Head of Extracorporeal
Detoxication Department at Syrdaryo regional branch of the Republican Research
Center for Emergency Medical
Aid, Honored Worker of Health of Uzbekistan, answers the question:
- Hemodialysis devices are available at all regional branches of our
center, and some regions provide them in multisectoral centers too. All hemodialysis
centers are in constant contact, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Health
of Uzbekistan.
If the device fails, you will be referred to the nearest clinic that will
provide you with the procedure until the device you have been previously using
is rehabilitated. As a rule, they select a clinic, which is located closest to
the patient's place of residence, however, it is quite possible that you might have
gone to the neighboring region. One thing is obvious: you will be provided with
qualified medical aid without fail.
Progress as a prospect
"What
are the prospects for urological services in the regions? What measures are
taken to enable physicians to introduce advanced methods of treatment locally? "Rahim
Kamilov, Termiz.
This
question is answered by
Farhad Akilov,
Director at the Republican Specialized Center of Urology:- Development
of urological services in the regions is closely associated with the core
departments of regional multisectoral medical centers for children and adults
that were established in 2008
in all regions. They have been entrusted with the introduction
of best practices of diagnosis and treatment of common diseases such as
urolithiasis, urinary tract infection, benign prostatic hyperplasia, oncological
and urinological diseases.
Specialists
of our center, Tashkent Medical Academy, Tashkent Institute of Postgraduate Studies
for Doctors comprehensively support their colleagues in regions in the
development of advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment. A significant
progress in the development of urology in the regions is expected within the
next two or three years when the centers are equipped with new facilities.
