New system is piloted
to uplift the quality of learning

The Cabinet of
Ministers of the Republic
of Uzbekistan approved a
Regulation “On clustered professional college and its branches”. The
experimental introduction of the new system for raising quality of education in
professional colleges in remote settlements has been launched in the country.
Integration of
university science and education into the production process is getting a new
stream. Groups or centers consisting of the university teaching staff, students
and representatives of enterprises – potential employers, and those who use the
products developed by university scientists, are currently formed under
university departments.
The country finds it crucial to introduce the
latest pedagogical technologies into the training process over the last years,
including those based on information and communication technologies. Students
of the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute shared their views on the correlation
between ICT and quality of education with UT correspondents.

Starting with this April, leading university
teachers entered on production of the courseware both for teachers and
students, offering the content and course of classes in each subject. At
present every university department has the courseware of this kind in one or
two subjects, the aids in the rest disciplines are in the process of
elaboration.
Andijon and Bukhoro State Universities face structural changes. Andijon State Pedagogical Institute of
Languages affiliated with the Andijon
State University
as the foreign languages department. Hydrotechnology department withdrew from
the Bukhoro State University to be transformed into the branch of the Tashkent
Irrigation and Melioration Institute.
Following summer
vacations, students of State Mining Institute carry on visiting the Mechanical
Engineering Plant of Navoi Mining and Smelting Complex. They come here for internship
and professional training.
Our previous issues informed you about the
details of introduction of the new simplified rating knowledge assessment
system starting from this year, reduction of compulsory documentation by
teachers, and launch of the new advanced training system for young teachers
within the Ustoz-Shogird system. UT correspondents held a quick inquiry among
teachers due to the innovations, questioning “How did innovations change their
professional activity?”
As the new academic
year started, the higher education institutions proceeded to the implementation
of a range of measures on preparing undergraduate and postgraduate students for
their graduation. As recommended by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary
Special Education, this process is to be renewed starting from this year.
