Recently
the Qushkupir Plant that produces lime-sand bricks has introduced the
technology offered by the Urganch
State University.
The new technology allows in production of cell concretes to replace
quartz sand with loess and loess-like loams. This is another example of how
student’s solutions of practical tasks could flow into the solution of pressing
issues in production.
“As in the world practice, quartz sands are used in the
country for the production of porous concretes. However, their natural stocks are not much and
to its chemical-mineralogical makeup it does not meets the standards for lime
concretes,” instructs UT correspondent Professor at the department of General
Technical Disciplines of the Chemical-Technical Faculty Rahimboy Rahimov. “We
have already offered the technology of production of these demanded building
materials that allows the replacement of quartz sand with loess or loess-like
loams. Simultaneously, we solve the issue on providing with enough quantity of
raw materials and hardening, as well as exploitation characteristics of
finished building materials.”
The idea about the development of such technology in the
Urganch State University has been matured for many years. Research works had
been conducted, in accordance of which students had to implement them in
practice. Three years ago the project was nominated for the state grant for
conducting research works that would assist to finish the idea. The project was
supported by the government and the Public Corporation Urganch Building
Materials on the base of which the offered technologies were tested.
Students and young academics have actively partaken in
research works. Rahimboy Rahimov says on it the following: “For the scientific
reasoning of the project we had to conduct routine study of reason of crack
initiations in walling, geodesic observance of civil, social and industrial
objects. One person could not manage to do this all. Thus, students rendered their
help. Especially active were Sarvarbek Quchqorov, Maqsudbek Sayimov, Dilmurod Matnazarov,
Elyor Ahmedov. Junior research fellow Ahmed Karakulov hugely helped us as well.
In laboratory he tested our hypotheses of technological solution of hardening
of bonding of lime-sand brick from off-grade barchan’s sand and active
admixtures with masonry mortar for construction of buildings.”
After three years of research at the Urganch University it was developed
a technology of getting silicate steam-cured materials through establishing
correlation dependence “component-structure-property” and consistency of hydrated
interaction of minerals in silicate compositions “barchan’s sand-lime-water” at
hydrothermal processing. The
technology has already been introduced in Qushkupir Plant producing lime-sand
bricks. Specialists from other enterprises demonstrated
their interest in this technology as well. University officials say they have
enough specialists for to introduce this technology in other enterprises also.
