Jizzakh is
one of the centers of higher education of the country. Youngsters from all
areas of the republic come here to study in the region’s Pedagogical and
Polytechnic Institutes, while the higher educational institutions strengthen
their positions as the centers of development of education and economy
sectors.
Space for occupations
For the last years many higher educational
institutions get new buildings with conditions for the improvement of learning
process. The Jizzakh universities are not the exception.
During the
last ten years on the territory of the Pedagogical Institute has been built two
learning blocks. In one of them the information-resource center of the
Institute is located. Currently it enriches its library with electronic
textbooks and virtual laboratories. Another novelty is training-methodological
complexes. They have been created on each discipline. According to the rector
Olimjon Dustmatov, putting into operation in 2005 of another new building
solved the problem concerning the demand of the department of physical culture
in premises. The block includes a vast sports hall and learning rooms. In 2008,
next to the Polytechnic Institute there was appeared a service center. Now, it
is one of the best in the town.
“It is the
service center of the Institute. And, it is fitted up with all cutting-edge
equipments necessary for maintenance of vehicles,” says the head of the
department of transport exploitation Salohiddin Usmonov. “Students of our
department always visit the center: many classes are organized in the method of
in-service training.
Several
years ago the Polytechnic Institute has received other more building which is
located in the mountain area. This is a base of road workers. Here they produce mineral components from shale
applied in production of asphalt. Moreover, here it is conducted scientific and
training works.”
Dynamic, interesting, crystal clear
Intensive introduction of advanced pedagogical
technologies are being carried out in the region. Major of them is linked with
computerization of the learning process. We attended classes in order to get
acquainted with this process.
Computers
are widely used in learning. They are used as the source for information and as
the instrument for making various tasks requiring different calculations and
creation of drawings... Thus, for the last two years all computers in the
pedagogical Institute were replaced with new ones, more advanced and of
high-performance, and their number reached 600. In the nearest future
it is planned to grow this number twice.
Computerized systems fro demonstration of
learning materials and interactive conduction of classes are getting introduced
as well. Application of projectors is typical now. The Polytechnic Institute
moves forward, classes in the institute are equipped with interactive
electronic boards and systems Tutor-60.
“While
explaining new themes tutors of professional technical disciplines have to draw
much on the board,” explains vice rector Jalil Hamidov. “With introduction of
electronic boards it is turned easier for tutors and demonstration brighter and
explanation of a theme clearer.”
“Classes
turn more interesting with the introduction of the system Tutor-60,” continues Jalil Hamidov.
“Tutor put question to students and momentarily gets answers from all of them. Plus,
the system checks the correctness of each answer independently. None leave
without attention, so the class goes more interesting and dynamic.”
Fine prospects
Plenty of various initiatives are getting
implemented in higher educational institutions for to organize practical
trainings.
Thus, the
Polytechnic Institute before our arrival has hosted the conference with
participation of representatives of companies of construction industry
addressed the integration of education and production. “It is fine opportunity
to us to get know what specialists are in demand in companies and what
scientific developments they need for the production development. Similar conferences
are the impetus for consolidating ties between the institute and enterprises in
the process of training specialists and scientific activity,” underscored the
rector of the Institute Ibrohim Sodiqov. “These days we plan to organize
conferences with representatives of companies of transport and textile sectors.”
Today,
institutes themselves provide students with places for undergoing practical
trainings. For example, in the Polytechnic Institute students can work in
scientific sub-departments.
“I work
quarter-time in the building-test laboratory in our institute,” says the
second-course student Javlon Abduboqiev. “It is a fine opportunity to reinforce
the theory in practice. And it is very convenient, as I learn and work is in
one place. Quite recently, we made the order of builders of Tashkent-Dushanbe international
highway. ”
The
Pedagogical Institute also offers various kinds of practical trainings for
students. “For example, future teachers of history go for teaching to schools
and colleges, and they also can go for excavations. They actively participate
in excavations in ancient settlements of Urda and Kaleya-tepa conducted on the
territory of the town,” noted the vice-rector Nemat Olimov.

Development
of higher education in Jizzakh region took its origin in 1974. The first was
the Abdulla Qodiriy Jizzakh Pedagogical Institute. Later, there were created
and operated the branch of the Tashkent Architectural-Building Institute, as
well as technical departments of the Tashkent Chemical-Technical and Road
Institutes. In 1992, they all were united into Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute.
