Carnegie Hall, one of the most prestigious stages in US, has become the
venue for the Festival Shashmaqom Forever. Within the festival there were
organized the concert of maqom performers from Uzbekistan and international
scientific-practical conference Shashmaqom in the 21st Century.
Singers and musicians brilliantly performed the program that included
various parts of shashmaqom and instrumental fragments from the repertoire of
the outstanding figure in music art Turghun Alimatov.
Sons of
Turghun Alimatov the musicians Alisher and Valisher, and grandson the singer
Abror Zufarov came to New York specially for the concert performed together
with their American colleagues. All participants of the concert were handed
with letters of recommendation for the contribution to the development of
classical music. The concert turned the remarkable event in the cultural life
of New York and brought it residents closer to
the rich cultural-historical heritage and singular art of Uzbekistan.
