“Girls of the Information Age” to attract female Internet users

The Women’s Internet Festival 2007 that is devoted to the International Woman’s Day has started in Uzbekistan. Its goal is to introduce girls and women of Uzbekistan with vast opportunities of information technologies and Internet.
The International Caravan-saray of culture of Ikuo Khirayama of the Academy of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan in Tashkent hosts a Week of Japanese cartoon films. It is organized in cooperation with the Uzbek-Japanese Center for Human Resources Development. The primary goal of this event is to introduce people with the Japanese animation art. Its peculiarity is that most of products are designed for both teenagers and adults.
In Uzbekistan, the 14th of February annually marks the birthday of the prominent poet and ruler of his time, the person with a unique style of creativity and the conqueror with a recognized wisdom and strategy – Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur.
The large hall of the State Conservatory pf Uzbekistan hosted the “Bolaligim-shodligim” (Happy childhood) charity concert devoted to the Year of Social Protection proclaimed by President Islam Karimov.
The Gallery of Applied Art of Uzbekistan presented a unique exposition to its visitors who had a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with rare works of Czech artists and photographers.

The first exhibition of Miniature and Calligraphy Art of Iran and Uzbekistan is organized with support of the Academy of Fine Art of Uzbekistan and Cultural Office of Iran Embassy in Tashkent.
This year the Uzbek community celebrates Abdulla Kahhor’s 100th anniversary. His productive and diverse activity is one of the brightest and most important things in modern Uzbek literature. Having been a genuine writer of the Uzbek people and owner of original talent, Abdulla Kahhor is considered to be the founder and famous master of short stories.
