Less than a month is left before the day when karnays and surnays (Uzbek traditional wind instruments) will exultantly sound celebration of wonderful ancient Samarkand’s 2750th anniversary. The sixth International Festival “Sharq taronalari” will start the following day and culmination of these happy days will be the most important and favorite holiday, Day of Independence of our republic.
These days, Uzbek cinematographers please more often the audience with interesting television serials. A rating states that the Uzbek national serials are successfully competing with foreign ones now. The progress is due to that the Uzbek productions are closer and include favorite actors.

Ceramics is one of the ancient and respected handicrafts, which was mastered by the Uzbek people. Appeared at the earliest stage of the human civilization, first of all to satisfy needs as household implements, ceramics became the most important part of the world cultural heritage.
Beautiful ancient Samarkand is in anticipation of the sixth international festival “Sharq taronalari”, which promises to give new impressions and acquaintance with beautiful melodies and songs of the world folk. Musik since the old days was germane with the most sacred feelings of people, being an essential part of their life.
“Sovcom” Gallery in Moscow is hosting a personal exhibition of Akmal Nur (Nuriddinov Akmal Vakhobjonovich). The project has been organized by the “Forum of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan” Foundation jointly with the “Sovcom” Gallery.
An art exhibition titled “Decoration of the Earth” opened at the Art Gallery of Urgench city on the occasion of the 2,750th anniversary of Samarkand, UzA NA reported.
Over 66 thousand exhibits are preserved in Andijan regional museum. On the purpose of introducing people with exhibits there was decided to organize mobile exposition. One of such exhibition is opened in “Biokimyo” joint-stock company in Andijan. During 10 days almost all workers of the company attended the exposition. Over 60 works reflecting style of living of ancient people, history of development, samples of applied art of different times were displayed in the exhibition.
Tours of ballet troupe of the State Academic Grand Theatre named after Alisher Navoi have passed with the notice in Japan, where a joint statement of the “Swan lake” of P. I. Tchaikovsky with “Toyota City Ballet” company has been presented to ballet art fans.
Art of Uzbekistan can be compared with a mighty tree which roots leave in a gray-haired antiquity, and the green magnificent crone symbolizes present and the great future of the country.
