Among outstanding forefathers of the Uzbek
people who left their mark in the history of Motherland, a special place goes
to Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur, the great statesman and soldier, talented writer
and poet. This year the country celebrates the 529th date of birth
of this historic personality.
On February
14, to the family of Farghona governor Umar Shayh Mirzo, descended from the
Temurids, was born the son who was named Bobur, meaning “lion, military leader,
leopard.” It definitely left trace on the future destiny of the boy, who
already at his age 11 inherited the throne and started ruling the country
independently, later on showcasing himself as a wise and masterful governor.
However, the political events of those years forced him to leave his home
country, after which the commander moved to India, where he founded the Empire
of Great Moghuls. This country existed for two hundred years and immortalized
the memory on Bobur and his descendants.
Yet, today, we see him not only as the
renowned statesman, but talented and singular writer who left the world a rich
literary heritage. Having hugely respected the creativity of Alisher Navoi,
Bobur knew himself as his follower and created plenty of plenty of products in
different genres of the Eastern lyrics. Today, they are served the valuable
historical documents and listed among the pearls of the world literature. In
his poems, Bobur calls people to foster in themselves the best of moral,
elevates the good, nobleness and honesty.
The most
popular works of the writer is his autobiographic product Boburnoma that turned
the first in the genre of historical literature. The book covers almost all
important historical events, details of life mode at the middle ages, as well
as customs of that period. Thanks to the unique content the Boburnoma is
considered the heritage of the world literature, and interest of people in this
work grows from every beginning year. Today, the Boburnoma translated into many
languages, serves the reason for various scientific researches.
Historical
and literary feats of Bobur high estimated all across the globe and especially
in his home place – Uzbekistan.
After gaining independence the monument to Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur was set up
in Andijon, as well as recreation park named after him was opened. Tashkent also has the park with his name.
In 1992 there was established
the Bobur Fund meant for profound study of the outstanding forefather’s life
and creativity. Books have been written about him, as well as video films were
shot and series of postage stamps were issued.
Every year
the celebration of Bobur’s day of birth is accompanied with various cultural
actions. This time it the initiative of the tutors of the methodological union
of mother tongue and literature at the Tashkent Higher School of National Dance
and Choreography. In active participation of students there was organized the
creative evening at the school timed to this significant date. Participants of
the event recited ghazelles, poems and sayings of Bobur, as well as performed
dances to the music written for products of the great poet. Besides, students
prepared stage versions dedicated to the childhood of Bobur and interesting
facts from his life. After, there was organized a discussion on the creativity
of the talented writer.
At the
department of spirituality of the Tashkent
Abdulla Qoditiry State Institute of Culture there was organized a literary
evening to the honor of great poets Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad
Bobur. The evening was attended by students of this education institution.
Professor at the folk creativity department S. Yuldasheva presented an
interesting speech on life and creativity of poets. Afterwards, the exhibition
of various editions with products of them was opened at the
information-resource center of the institute.
The Uzbek
State Institute of Arts has hosted a creative evening Poetry and Melody
dedicated to a tribute to Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur. At the
event there was made the presentation by the scholar-orientalist, Candidate of
Philology, associate professor Mukhayo Abdurahmanova, and performances by
People’s Artists of Uzbekistan Zamira Suyunova and Matluba Dadaboeva.
