Old
traditions of masters weaving world-famous fabric - atlas and making headwear –
skullcap were always in respect in Marghilon. One of such masters is Rasuljon
Mirzaahmedov, who breathed in a new beauty to the Marghiloni atlas.
In May 2005 for the revival of the centuries-old fabric A’lo
Bahmal he became the winner of the contest organized by UNESCO in Asian-Pacific
region.
“When we represented our fabrics abroad, all were hugely
impressed of them,” says the master. “As, it was a rarity – fabric of handmade
from natural silk and of natural dyes. That is why craftsmanship traditions of
our country are famous all around the globe.”
