Ijtimoiy Fikr Center for Public Opinion Research conducted a social survey among businesses
across the country.
The center
studied public opinion about the role of commercial banks for small businesses
and entrepreneurship, their confidence in the banking system. Results of the
survey show that the banking system of Uzbekistan has a relatively high
status in the process of economic reforms carried out in accordance with
socially oriented market economy. Most respondents appreciated the activities
of banks.
Respondents
also noted a wide choice of deposits offered by commercial banks, the services
provided to customers based on new, advanced technologies, as well as advice
and assistance services. In particular, the majority of businessmen expressed
satisfaction with the activities of banks in providing loans to business
entities. Commercial banks show growing volumes of micro-credits provided in support
of entrepreneurship, including loans for education, women entrepreneurs,
business projects by graduates of professional colleges. The bulk of
respondents noted that such loans played an important role in the creation of
new jobs, involvement of young people in the entrepreneurship.
