The “O’zbekiston temir yo’llari” State Stock Railway Company signed a contract with the Russian CSC “Transpromresurs” to modernize the park of diesel locomotives worth US$ 54 million. Small hydroelectric power stations on assembly line

In 2008 the “O’zsuvenergo” Association will launch four small hydroelectric power stations worth around US$ 60 million. These projects aim to supply the population and economy of Uzbekistan with cheap and nonpolluting electric power.
For the first time the Uzbek stock exchange experiences export futures contracts on petrochemicals and products of cotton industry. It is another step in the integration of Uzbekistan into the international goods markets.
The government of Uzbekistan adopted a program of technical modernization of mixed fodder industries in 2007-2010. Highly technological equipment in agro-industrial sector is additional encouragement for investors.
The State Property Committee of Uzbekistan had announced tenders on selling the shareholdings of two thermoelectric power stations, 48% of the OSC “Syrdarya Thermoelectric Power Station”, the largest thermoelectric power station in Central Asia and 47% of the OSC “Tashkent Thermoelectric Power Station”.
ADB funds upgrade of key ‘Silk Road’ highway in Uzbekistan
