Uzbekenergo and a consortium of Czech companies
Inecon Power-Sitronics have signed a $34.8 million memorandum on strategic
partnership for the implementation of an automated electricity monitoring and
metering system.
In 2009, the country produced 2,030 tons of
honey, which was about 400 tons more than planned. This was the launch of the national
beekeeping development designed for 2009-2011. Experts believe the sector will
experience even more production growth in the coming years.

In the first half of 2010 joint stock companies
(JSC) of the republic retained the trend to increase their aggregate authorized
capital, according to the Center for Coordination and Control over the
Securities Market. Currently, their number exceeds 1,476, while their aggregate
capital amounts to 6.1 trillion soums (3.1% increase as compared with the 1st
quarter 2010).
The State Joint Stock Company O'zbekenergo is
effectively carrying out the reconstruction and upgrade of generating
capacities and electric networks, and an integrated policy in the sector. The
work is implemented in compliance with the Resolution On the program of
measures for implementation of important projects on modernization, technical
and technological extension of production for 2009-2014.
