The Democratic
Party Milliy Tiklanish and the Social Democratic Party Adolat convened for
their sessions last week in Tashkent
to review their activities in the past year and outline their plans for the year
in progress.

New impetus to the activities of small and micro businesses

2009, commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued 120 billion soums more financial
resources than in 2008 to small and entrepreneurial businesses, informed the
Agency for Financial Sector Development of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
Presidential resolution “On
additional measures to stimulate an increased production and improve quality of
wall materials” of June 19, 2009 became an important guide to action in scaling
up the construction work in the country, increasing the range, scope and
quality of building materials.
Any
new scientific theory may seem fantastic at first glance, however, as
experience shows, it is the most ambitious scientific development that can
produce a truly superb effect in practical application. In this respect, our
scientists do not cease to amaze with their achievements. But the major thing
is that the innovations could help those they are designed for.
In the face of continuing fall
in demand for commodity and material resources in many countries, Andijonkabel
increased production and sale of cables and wires in 2009 by 12% as compared to
that in 2008. Sales realized 76 billion soums. And in the LAN-cable production
used for structuring communication systems and information technologies, the
company became the leader among the 60 cable manufacturing factories in CIS.
One of the leading companies in the electrical industry produces over 30 types
of cables and wires, more than 50% of which is exported.

State Joint-Stock Company Uzbekenergo has held
an extended meeting of the board. The meeting addressed the results of socioeconomic
development of enterprises of Uzbekenergo, implementation of anti-crisis
measures, programs of modernization, technical and technological re-equipment
of production in 2009 and measures for the sustainable development of the
industry in 2010.
