The President did not ignore even the slightest details affecting the stay of tourists in our country

The tourist should travel, and not go to the institutions of internal affairs. If we want to create jobs through tourism, it is necessary not to make demands to the tourist, but to create conditions for him, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Yesterday, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video-conference was held on February 22, dedicated to a critical analysis of the effectiveness of measures taken to increase the flow of foreign tourists, further development of domestic tourism, and the improvement and expansion of tourism services.

In this regard, instructions are given to transfer the registration system completely to the electronic format, imposing registration obligations on internal affairs bodies, hotels, medical institutions, private houses and other individuals and legal entities that host tourists, freeing them from this care.

The meeting noted that in 2017 Uzbekistan visited 2 million 700 thousand tourists. This indicator is analyzed from a qualitative point of view, it was noted that most of the tourists are those who come to see relatives, to be treated, to study, with commercial and other purposes.

The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development is tasked to ensure, together with the relevant ministries and agencies, an increase in the number of tourists in all promising areas of tourism and the volume of real export of tourist services by at least two times in the next 5 years.

Particular attention is paid to the role of air transportation in enhancing tourism potential.

According to the World Tourism Organization, almost 60 percent of the world's tourists enjoy air travel, despite the high cost of its services.

The passivity of the “Uzbekiston Havo Yullari” air company in this direction has been severely criticized. Effective work is not conducted to optimize the prices for air tickets, the opening of new flights, the expansion of the possibilities for the transit transportation of passengers and the geography of flights.

In this regard, a number of tasks were set for the "Uzbekiston Havo Yullari" air company. Thus, modern marketing technologies will be introduced into the airline's activity, the opportunity to purchase air tickets through systems present in leading airports of the world, mobile communication facilities is created. At the "Karshi" airport on the basis of studying foreign experience, it is envisaged to introduce the "Open Skies" regime, in the future such a system will be introduced at the airports of Andijan, Nukus and Navoi.

As noted at the meeting, after the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for 2 days, all tickets from Israel to Uzbekistan were bought up to June. Therefore, the number of flights to countries with visa-free countries will be increased, in addition to the city of Tashkent, direct flights abroad will also be carried out from Bukhara, Samarkand, Urgench, Navoi and Karshi.

The President did not ignore even the slightest details affecting the stay of tourists in our country, including dim illumination in airport halls, non-use of all available passport control booths, artificial queues, disorder work of private taxi owners. It is entrusted to eliminate these and other shortcomings.

The issues of extending the tourist season, expanding the types of services provided and improving the tourist infrastructure were also discussed. The main part of the hotels is located in Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand, despite this, in the tourist season, even in them there is a shortage of seats. Instructions are given for increasing the number of hotels, creating private accommodation facilities and guest houses, and allocating land plots to entrepreneurs for these purposes. It was also pointed out the need to increase the number of sanitary-hygienic points in the places of tourist visits and along motorways.

Instructions are given for improving the system of visiting cultural heritage sites, installing turnstiles, video cameras and road signs, organizing information centers and providing them with a wide range of tourist-attractive services.

The meeting paid special attention to the issue of increasing foreign exchange earnings through the creation of new types of trade services. The need to produce souvenirs and their sale in special kiosks, the opening of "Duty Free" and "Tax Free" stores in the tourist cities, organization of car rental centers and Wi-Fi zones with the involvement of business entities was noted.
The reports of officials on the ongoing work on the creation of round-the-clock tourist zones in historical cities, tourist zones "Ancient Bukhara" and "Samarkand City" were heard.

Issues of development of domestic tourism were discussed at the video-selector meeting.

Recommendations are given on the formation of a tradition of visiting the regions of the country by the population, especially by the activists of mahallas, the elderly, youth and low-income families, and the increase in the budget of trade union organizations of the share of spending for excursions.

Our country has a great potential in the field of pilgrimage tourism. To create the necessary amenities in this direction, the Department for the Support of Pilgrimage Tourism was established in the structure of the Committee for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a visa-free regime was established for countries such as Malaysia, Turkey and Indonesia.

The meeting noted that the opportunities available in this sphere are not being used to the full, a number of places of pilgrimage are in poor condition.

In our country there are many mausoleums of scholars, sacred places recognized in the Islamic world, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. For example, in the various regions, the last shelter of 12 spiritual guides preached the teaching of Naqshbandiya. Currently we are working on improvement of 8 complexes, including seven pirs in Bukhara and Hoja Ahror Vali in Samarkand. However, the mausoleum of Muhammad Zahid Bukhari, Alauddin Attor in Surkhandarya, Muhammad Darvesh, Muhammad Imganaki in Kashkadarya need to be repaired.

In this regard, the hokims of Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions are instructed to ensure the improvement of these places of pilgrimage, improve the condition of the roads leading to them, create all conditions for pilgrims.
The issue of promotion of the tourism brand of Uzbekistan abroad is analyzed.

The need to advertise the investment, trade and tourism potential of Uzbekistan under a single brand was noted, coordinating the activities of the relevant structures. The National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications was instructed to organize an international television channel with round-the-clock broadcasting, which will promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and transmit various interesting travel programs.
