Where Will Uzbekistan’s Athletes Perform?

In 2017, track and field athletes of our country will take part in almost all the major events of the world and continental level.

The main event in 2017 will be the World Championships in Athletics to be held in the British capital London from 5 to 13 August under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). This will become the first World Cup in the United Kingdom, and the eleventh in Europe. Their votes for London gave 16 members of the association, whereas Doha, which is also struggling to become the Capital of the World Athletics received 10 ballots. World Championship 2017 in relay race is scheduled for April 22-23 at the Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau. For the third consecutive time the capital of the Bahamas will take this competition. 9 sets of medals will be awarded, and the sum of points in all disciplines will be awarded a team prize "Golden baton." The current two-time holder of the trophy is the US team. The championship program again includes changes compared with the previous draw. World Cross Country Championships 2017 will be held March 26 in Kampala, capital of Uganda. 9 sets of medals will be awarded: 4 in individual and team competition, as well as in the mixed relay. At the start there are adult athletes and juniors (under 20 years). The decision to hold the championship in Uganda was taken at the IAAF Council in Monaco on November 18, 2014. According to voting results, Kampala was ahead of Manama, capital of Bahrain. World Cross Country Championships will be the first official tournament under the auspices of the IAAF in Uganda. Each country will be able to set up to 6 people in each of the 4 races, team standings will be supplied by the sum of places 4 the best of them. For the first time in the history of the program on cross-country World Cup will be the mixed relay. Teams will consist of 2 men and 2 women, which can be arranged in stages in any order. The stage length will be equal to the length of a single competitive round.

The pre-jubilee capital of the 29th Summer Universiade this time will be the Taiwanese city of Taipei. The World Student Competition will be held from 19 August to 30 August (athletics from 20 to 25 August). We should remind that the decision about the choice of location for the competition was announced in November 2011 at a meeting of the members of Congress of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Taipei won the highest honor in a tense struggle, because for the right to take the student Olympiad traditionally fighting many cities of the world. Previous location for the Summer Universiade were the Russian Kazan and South Korean Gwangju.

On December 19, 2010, in Kuwait City, the Olympic Council of Asia, the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan and khyakimlik of Ashgabat signed an agreement "On holding V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts in the Turkmen capital city of Ashgabat in 2017". Games will be held from 17 to 27 September. On November 5, 2010, in the Turkmen capital, the foundation was laid for the Olympic Village - the arena of the V Asian Games in 2017. The largest in the region, the Olympic village will be located on an area of 157 hectares. This set includes more than 30 different sites, including the social and domestic, transportation and other infrastructure. The total cost of facilities is US $ 5 billion.
