8th open ended all-Russian tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling for the prizes of the European champion and USSR champion named after V.G.Ivlev,was completed on February 7 in Podolsk.
The Uzbek team won seven medals: one gold, one silver and five bronze, the press service of the Wrestling Association of Uzbekistan reports.
Mukhammadali Shamsiddinov won gold in the weight category up to 85 kg. Second place was awarded to Feruz Tukhtaev ( 59 kg ).Islom Bahromov ( 59 kg ) , Mirzabek Rakhmatov ( 66 kg ) , Nurbek Hoshimbekov ( 75 kg ), Irmatov Shermatov ( 85 kg ), Daler Rakhmatov ( 130 kg ) all won bronze medals.
According to the head coach of the youth team of the country in Greco-Roman wrestling, Ravshan Ruzikulov, these competitions are seen as a preparation for the Asian Championship and the World Cup.
