The Games program includes 23 sports. Uzbekistan will be represented in the competitions in judo, swimming, athletics, power-lifting, and shooting.
Our athletes are focused on winning more than one medal at the Rio Paralympics, as at previous Olympics the national team won only one medal. It is noteworthy that many athletes managed to do it in the license competitions. In particular, the first license in shooting.
“The recent victories of our athletes at the 31st Summer Olympic Games inspired us hugely,” says judoka Sharif Khalilov. “At the last Paralympics I won silver medal, I think this time I will be able to significantly improve the results. If all goes as planned, I will dedicate the victory to the independence, to the memory of our President Islam Karimov. After all, over the years, under his leadership in the country, all-round conditions were created for the development of Paralympic movement.”
“At the last Paralympic Games I performed in two disciplines, the best result was the sixth place in the 100 m butterfly,” says the swimmer Kirill Pankov. “This year I will represent the country in three disciplines. I hope to win medals.”
