The Legendary Sergey Bubka to Help the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation in Training of Young Athletes

The living legend of athletics Sergey Bubka together with the Vice President of the Asian Athletics Association Aleksey Kondrat has visited the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and took part in the events timed to the 100th anniversary of athletics in Uzbekistan.

Sergei Bubka is the world sports legend, who set 35 world records. Today he is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee, Vice President of the International Athletics Federation and head of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

The guests participated in the seminar of the Athletics Federation for the coaches for regional youth sports schools. The celebration of the 100th anniversary of athletics of Uzbekistan was held within the seminar as well.

The distinguished guests got familiarized with a large-scale work carried out in Uzbekistan for the development of athletics. In particular, they received detailed information about the construction of the athletic complex next to the Pakhtakor Stadium, as well as work on the selection and training of young athletes.

Sergey Bubka and Aleksey Kondrat got acquainted with the new building of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Sports Medicine and the Museum of Olympic Glory.

The parties signed a memorandum of cooperation, which aims to exchange experiences and knowledge in the field of sports development, as well as the joint work of sports federations of Uzbekistan and Ukraine in training of athletes and professional development of coaches.

During the negotiations, Sergey Bubka and Aleksey Kondrat discussed the possibility of holding prestigious international tournament in athletics in Uzbekistan.
