The new organization, registered by the Ministry of Justice of the country on February 28 this year, will promote the popularization of virtual sports games, the organization of competitions and championships, uzreport.uz writes.
It's no secret that today eSports is rapidly gaining popularity all over the world. The history of this virtual sport dates back to 1997. It was then that the first cybersport league CPL was founded. Today the most popular types of virtual sports are shooters, fighting games, and, of course, sports simulators.
Activities of the association began with participation in the World Cybersport Championship ESWC, where the 32 best cyberfootball players of the planet challenged the title of world champion.
In a relatively short time, the association was able to achieve great success. During the first months of work, she became an official member of the Football Federation of Uzbekistan; contracts were signed with all clubs of the professional football league on mutual cooperation. Thus, about 20 football clubs in Uzbekistan have included cyberfootball players.
In November 2016, the Football Federation approved the association's project to create the world's first professional cyberfootball league - PCFL, consisting of the highest and first leagues. One of the most striking achievements of the association was the opening of the first professional arena in Uzbekistan for e-sports competitions - UZ Arena.
