Uzbekistan national team has won six awards at the Asian Judo Championships in Kuwait, including the silver in the team event.
The main event of the continent - the Asian Judo Championships 2015 has been hosted by Kuwait, 210 wrestlers from 31 countries competed for the Champion title and ranking points. Uzbekistan national team was represented by the strongest athletes of the country, who brought 5 medals to the country’s prize box.
Our famous heavyweight, Olympic medalist Abdulla Tangriev won the title of the champion of Asia defeating in the finale the judoka from Kyrgyzstan Yuriy Krakovetski.
Sharofiddin Baltabaev (73 kg) and Gulnoza Matniyazova (70 kg) won silver medals. Sharofiddin Lutfillaev (60 kg) and Sherali Juraev (90 kg) grabbed the bronzes.
Thus, to the total number of medals Uzbekistan national team came fifth after Japan, South Korea, Mongolia and China. In addition, our athletes return home with the silver medal in the team event, while Japan is the first.
