National archery team does not lose hope for winning the license for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
International tournament in Shymkent was an important step in preparation of the national team to the license competition, - the archery team coach Gulnara Aripova shared her forecast:
–At the upcoming II stage of the World Cup in June, which will be held in Antalya, it is left to compete for only 7 individual and 4 team licenses. Our athletes need to try very well to win at least one of them.
The team of 8 athletes in total has been in Kazakhstan. Weather, of course, was not the best, in terms of the results. There has been hail, rain, and the sun as well.
Munira Nurmanova and Sardor Rustamov managed to win "silver" in mixed exercises (male and female performance is counted) among adults. Among athletes of 1996 year of birth Khilola Yunusova and Ergash Azamov won bronze medals in the same exercise. Unfortunately, there were no licenses left in this exercise.
The rest athletes took 4-6 places in the standings.
I evaluate the overall performance of the team as not bad and encouraging. Despite there are significant improvements in the sport, we were preparing in economy regime. On the whole, it has been only three or four years since the rebirth of our sport in Uzbekistan - it is not enough to gain strength.
We hope that we will be into luck at the World Cup, and we will be able to take the license in individual or team classification.
