According to ESPN, Australian boxer Lucas Brown has passed a positive doping test after a fight with Uzbek Ruslan Chagaev for the title of WBA world heavyweight champion.
Brown sent Chagaev knocked down in the 10th round of the fight that took place in March in Grozny. Uzbek boxer got up, but after a series of missed punches the referee has stopped the fight and gave the win to the Australian, who took away Chagaev’s WBA belt.
Doping test of the Australian boxer for clenbuterol was positive. VADA managers (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association - the organization that conducted doping tests after the fight) said that Brown has the right to request the results of B sample immediately.
If Brown is found guilty of violating anti-doping rules, he would face a deprivation of the title.
