Taking into account the previously won licenses of Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Khurshid Tajibayev, Fazlitdin Gaibnazarov, and Elnur Abduraimov Uzbekistan will be represented in all male and one female weight categories at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
This is interim result of the Asia and Oceania Boxing Qualifying Tournament held in Chinese Qian'an.
Yesterday, according to the results of the semi-finals, seven boxers representing Uzbekistan in these competitions have become the finals participants and the holders of Olympic licenses.
A momentous event was the performance of Yodgoroy Mirzaeva who won Ankhuyag Gan-Erdene of Mongolia in the weight category of up to 51 kg in the fight for the finals with 3:0. This twenty-year girl from Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region was the first Uzbek in history who won the right to participate in the Olympic boxing competitions among women.
Performances of the other six members of the national team were gorgeous as well.
Hasanboy Dusmatov (49 kg), Shahobiddin Zoirov (52 kg), Shahram Giyasov (69 kg), and Rustam Tulyaganov (91 kg) defeated decisively their opponents with the score of 3:0. Elshod Rasulov (81 kg) and Bokhodir Zhalolov (91 kg) won by TKO.
