Uzbekistan intends in 2017 to intensify negotiations on the arrangement of the borders with its neighbors, is said in the draft decree of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev published on the Single Portal of Interactive State Services portal (SPISS).
Thus, the relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan will have to develop in the first quarter of 2017 an action plan for the delimitation and demarcation of state borders.
In particular, it is planned to accelerate the process of legal registration of the uncoordinated sections of the state border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and to sign an intergovernmental agreement on the border.
As part of the strategy implementation it is projected to resume the negotiations with Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to discuss the legal registration of the uncoordinated section of the state border.
The negotiations are also expected on the demarcation of the state border with Kazakhstan on related sections.
