The Consulate General of Uzbekistan started its activity in St. Petersburg

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan has started its activity in St. Petersburg (Russia), the press service of the country's Foreign Ministry reported. Its consular district includes the North-West Federal District of Russia.

The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on the opening of the consulate general in St. Petersburg in July last year. The decision was made "with a view to ensuring effective protection of the rights and interests of citizens and legal entities of the Republic of Uzbekistan, providing them with quality consular and legal assistance, as well as monitoring the migration flows of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

Uzbekistan has an embassy in Moscow and a Consulate General in Novosibirsk. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also working on the issue of opening consular offices in Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.
