The capital is getting ready for the elections

December 24 this year, elections will be held in the district Kengashs of People's Deputies of the city of Tashkent. This election campaign began on September 23 according to the resolution of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan of September 15, 2017 year. This political process is gradually implemented on the basis of the Program of Measures for Conducting Elections to the District Kengashs of People's Deputies of the city of Tashkent, approved by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Organizational Measures for Conducting Elections to the District Kengashs of People's Deputies of the City of Tashkent."

This was said at a briefing at the National Press Center, organized to inform voters about the process of elections to the District Kengashs of People's Deputies of the city of Tashkent.

According to the chairman of the city election commission for holding elections to the District Kengashs of People's Deputies of Tashkent, Hamid Karimov, the election campaign is in full swing. According to the program, the relevant district election commissions established in Tashkent held their meetings on registration of candidates for deputies until November 19. The announcement of registration in the coming days will be announced in the local press.

Pre-election campaigning of candidates for deputies begins with the day of their registration. According to the decision of the Central Election Commission "On the pre-election campaigning of candidates for deputies to the District Kengashs of People's Deputies of Tashkent" on November 16, 2017, a schedule was approved for the provision during the election campaign to the district Kengashs of the people's deputies of the city of Tashkent with a free airtime for candidates for election campaigning on the "Toshkent" National TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, free print space for representatives of political parties and self-governing bodies of citizens newspaper "Tashkent okshomi" - “Evening Tashkent”.
All participating political parties and citizens' self-government bodies nominated one candidate each 330 electoral districts, organized in 11 districts of Tashkent.
Based on the requirements of the electoral law, women make up more than
30 percent of the total number of nominated candidates for deputies from political parties.
