State reserves will be managed by one agency

Under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a meeting was held on February 2 devoted to the analysis of the ongoing work to improve the environmental situation and protect the environment, and to determine the actual tasks in this area.

The issue of reserve management is discussed.

Out of the 8 state reserves, 6 are under the jurisdiction of the State Forestry Committee, 2 are under the jurisdiction of the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources and the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, there is no unified management system for them.

In this regard, it was noted the need to study the issue and develop sound proposals for the transfer of reserves in the conduct of a unified state body.
