Senate's 8th plenary session considers 15 issues

The Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held its 8th plenary session on 13 December.

The senators approved the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Program of employment of the population for 2017. They also approved a number of laws including: laws "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with adoption of main directions of tax and budget policy for", "On combating corruption", "On the procedure of serving administrative arrest", "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with adoption of additional measures to ensure the accelerated development of entrepreneurship, full protection of private ownership and qualitative improvement of business climate", "On establishing the Day of workers of bodies of Prosecutor's office of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Members of the Senate also considered the appointment of Sodiq Safoev to the post of First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis and adopted a corresponding decision.

The senators considered the response to a parliamentary inquiry addressed to the head of the State inspection "Sanoatgeokontehnazorat" on the protection of population and territories from emergency situations of natural and technogenic character, as well as the execution of legislative acts in the field of industrial and radioactive security. They also made a decision on sending the parliamentary inquiry to Minister for development of information technologies and communications H. Mirzahidov on the execution of the legislation in terms of introduction of "Electronic government" system.

Then the senators considered the appointment of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the State of Kuwait and the dismissal of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of India.

The plenary session in total considered 15 issues, including 5 laws designed to a consistent deepening of democratic and market reforms, strengthening parliamentary and public control in the sphere of public administration. The decisions adopted at the session will be an important factor in ensuring reliable guarantees of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, further improve the standard of living of the population, stability and prosperity in the country.
